Resurrection No More? If Days of Our Lives *Is* Reversing Course, Who’s In Dr. Rolf’s Pods??

Have we finally come to the point of Lexie’s resurrection on Days of Our Lives? Back when this all started, we speculated that it going wrong would put an end to stories about returning from the dead in a spectacular way. And judging by both EJ’s and Dr. Rolf’s reactions on Monday’s Days of Our Lives, we may have reached that point.

EJ finally turned on the DiMeras’ pet scientist, furious with Rolf for overpromising and using Lexie as a guinea pig. (Conveniently ignoring his own role in using his sister as a test subject, but we digress.) And Dr. Rolf, in turn, was so heartbroken that he said he was abandoning his life’s work. There will be no more bringing anyone back to life. Lexie was too great a tragedy to continue.

That all sounded well and good, but then something curious happened. EJ watched someone who looked like it could be Dr. Rolf, wheel a covered body past him in the hospital. And the episode ended with Rolf wheeling a new pod into yet another secret room in the DiMera tunnels to join two others. He adds it, says goodbye, tells everyone to rest in peace and turns out the lights.

Who’s In the Pods?

So… who’s in the pods? We know the immediate temptation is to name Devlin St. John, but John Oliver’s appearance and subsequent pod-ification was added months after these scenes were filmed. Also, we can’t see Rolf being OK with watching over him for Rita. The good doctor cares only about DiMeras, and Devlin would just complicate matters.

One of them could be Stefan, but his “death” offscreen and attested to by Vivian (who also mysteriously died offscreen) seems very fishy to us. And if he’s not actually dead, Rolf wouldn’t need to keep his body on ice!

It’s probably safe to assume Lexie is the newest pod Rolf adds — at least unless we get confirmation down the line that Abe and Theo are definitely burying her body. So that leaves the other two. And our guesses?

One of them is Peter. Dr. Rolf, after all, was the man who killed Peter for reasons we never discovered. So chances are he swiped the body and has been storing it somewhere to be used!

Our other guess is, of course, Abigail. Her body’s been missing, and while everyone’s assumed that Clyde Weston was behind the disappearance, he may have just taken advantage of it. Lexie definitely seems to be dead again, so we’re guessing the other two are as well, and Rolf’s just keeping the bodies on ice in case of… something.

He did, after all, say he had other potential test subjects to bring back to life, so the other pods may be them.

But the plan, now, seems to be just to let them rest. With that said, the fact that Rolf didn’t remove anyone and bury them means Days of Our Lives isn’t closing the door on revisiting this somewhere down the line!
