The Five+ Biggest Shocks In the General Hospital Episode You Have to See to Believe!

gh mashup

We feel like we’ve been saying it a lot lately, but man, General Hospital has been on fire as it wraps up this Faison’s Final Project storyline! The last few days have been packed with action and drama, and Thursday’s episode was no different. Well, it was different in one way, as it delivered shock after shock and a number of reveals that just about left our jaws on the floor!

But for each surprise we got, it left us with another question. So we thought we’d pull together the five biggest shocks of the episode (plus a bonus one) and the questions they left us with. So read on, unless you’re wary of spoilers!

1. Who’s Phoebe’s Father?

Before passing out on Ava from his butt shot, Ethan mumbled that he wasn’t, actually Phoebe’s father. We suspected this back when Ethan confused the heck out of us and messed around with his DNA sample. But now we’re back to wondering who Phoebe’s father really is, and how BAD he is. If the DNA sample swiped from the PCPD is any hint, then it’s a baddie who’s tangled with the Port Charles folks before.

2. Is This It for Cullum?

It certainly looks like it! He and his evil agents got into a shootout with Cassius and Josslyn and, despite landing some potentially mortal wounds, he got his just deserts in the end. Joss managed to crawl over to a shotgun and take Cullum out with it. Honestly, it was one heck of an action sequence and it looks like this really, truly is the end for Cullum!

3. Are We Losing Cassius, Too?

Right now, we aren’t even sure if Cassius is going to survive. He looked in rough shape after Cullum shot him. But even if he does, he has a LOT to answer for. And it feels like prison — either courtesy of the PCPD or the WSB — is headed his way. Has he done enough to redeem himself? Did going back to save Carly, Joss, Obrecht and everyone help? Will Josslyn speak up for him with the WSB?

We don’t know yet, but first thing’s first: We have to find out if he even survives!

4. What’s Next for Britt?

Before Cullum was gunned down by Josslyn, he couldn’t help but speechify ad nauseum to Cassius. And one of the things he revealed? Britt never had Huntington’s! Like, ever! We suspected it might be something along those lines when Joe learned that her “medicine” was just saline, but finding out she never had it? That’s a surprise.

We thought that maybe it had been cured without her knowing, but no. Cullum told Cassius that he and Sidwell had been working on this project for a decade. Britt was tricked into thinking she had the fatal disease to keep her and her brother in line. And… it worked.

5. Is Anna Actually Insane?

Now that Felicia knows Anna was right about “Nathan” and not delusional like everyone thought, it’s time for her to go home. She’s been cured and her mind healed from the torments visited upon her by Sidwell, Cullum and their cohorts of evil. This was proof of her rationality and the progress she’s made!

But then Felicia left and sitting in the chair in Anna’s room was Peter. “Nicely done,” he admired. “Do you think she bought it?” Peter’s not actually there, or Felicia would have seen him. So that means he’s all in Anna’s mind. A mind which may still be fractured. So now what? And what does “Peter” want with her?

Bonus: Is “Z” Good or Bad?

We knew John Oliver was showing up in dramatic fashion based on the photos the show released, and boy were we not let down! After Cassius was shot, Josslyn wounded and Cullum shot in the back, Oliver showed up in dramatic fashion and made his way over to Joss. And before she passed out, he reassured her that he was there to help, and everything would be OK.

And our only thought is: He’s the oft-mentioned (lately), but never before seen Z, head of the WSB! Valentin’s been gone a little while in search of him, so our guess would be that he told Z everything, and for once, the WSB is being run by someone who’s actually a good guy, there to save the day. (Unless things are about to take a dark turn and Cullum’s evil boss came to town!)

What do you think? What were the biggest surprises for you? Have you been enjoying this week?
