Think It’s Bad Now? The Impending Return of Young & Restless’ [Spoiler] May Send the Abbott Clan Into *Total* Unfettered Chaos

What appeared to be the wrap-up of the Patty/Laurence drama on Young & Restless quickly took a turn on Friday’s episode when an unhinged Patty (what other kind is there?) stabbed Jack. Diane, meanwhile, was on her way home with Kyle, to what she thought would be a happy reunion. Unfortunately, it’s instead going to be a full-on nightmare.

As Young & Restless viewers may already be aware, Ashley will return to visit Jack this week as his life hangs in the balance. “How,” you might be wondering, “Could Ash coming back to Genoa City make things even worse?” Well, we’ll tell ya’.

Ashley, as most know, has been away working hard on her mental health after splintering into multiple personalities and dealing with the terror-ific drama that unfolded involving her old friend, Alan Laurent and his evil twin, Martin. While she held it together well on her last visit, it’s safe to assume that there’s always the chance of a relapse, especially if something particulary triggering goes down.

As SOAPS readers are aware, we suspect that Patty’s accomplice (or perhaps the mastermind) is none other than Martin Laurent himself, masquerading as Laurence Markham. Find out why we think that here.

Kyle and Diane left the Markham residence after calling the police on the would-be psychiatrist and kidnapper, but did they stick around to make sure he was arrested? Or did they just assume he’d remain asleep in the chair until the authorities rolled up? If it’s the latter, we’re guessing he got away. Dumber things have happened… like Jack letting Patty go free once he knew Kyle had Diane. Please!

Young & Restless spoilers tell us that Patty will get the upper hand on Diane later this week, so it’s safe to say the reign of terror is not a wrap. That means that Laurent could resurface as well. If he is Martin Laurent, and Ashley has a triggering run-in with him, she could relapse. With Jack’s life hanging in the balance and the family already in crisis, we don’t have to explain how this would spin things from bad to total unfettered chaos.
