Matt Squares Off With Victor — and Noah Flips His Lid

Friday, July 31, 2026: Today on The Young and the Restless, Nikki brings Victor to tears, Phyllis freaks out, Noah snaps, and Matt gets in Victor’s face.

At the Club, Nikki marvels at the colors in her fruit salad as Victor says reassuring things. She turns the topic to Nick. Their hearts are broken and they’re worried about him in rehab. They hope visiting with her good news helped him.

Nikki wants to revisit her question from the night before: Where do things stand between them? Victor wants to focus on their son’s recovery. Nikki can’t do that while her life is in limbo. She complains that they’re falling back on old patterns without discussing anything. “I want you to tell me how you feel.”

In her suite, Phyllis awakens wondering where Matt is. “Did you leave town already?” Getting out of bed, the redhead acts frantic over the guy disappearing.

Making her way downstairs, Phyllis confronts Nikki and Victor, warning the Mustache that he won’t get away with his latest sabotage. Victor asks if she’s having trouble with the new company already. Phyllis assures him Arabesque will one day compete with Newman Enterprises and stalks off as Victor erupts into giggles.

Unamused, Nikki steers the conversation back to the state of their marriage. “Will I be returning to my suite upstairs or am I coming home with you?” Across the room, Phyllis texts Matt asking if he’s left town. She deserves to know!

Scared as Hell

At Crimson Lights, Sharon senses something is off with Noah, who admits it’s Matt. He’s playing on Sienna’s guilt. She’s remembering him having human decency. This scares the hell out of him. Cutting Matt any slack can be dangerous. He needs to leave town.

Sharon’s sure that Matt won’t stick around where people despise him. Noah wishes she was right, but he hasn’t made a move or packed. Noah wants to tell his dad, but Sharon explains that Nick went into rehab. Noah wants to see him, but Sharon explains he needs a few days… he was just blindsided by his parents. Noah grits that this is all Matt’s fault. It’s just another reminder that the man is toxic and needs to go… now.

A Favor

At The Shadow Room, Sienna’s startled when Matt shows up. He’s come to ask a favor. They sit, and he gripes about Noah attacking him the last time he was there. Sienna admits that they had come to an agreement before that, but the Newmans see him as their worst nightmare. Matt’s not proud of how he reacted.

Sienna learns that Matt has decided to stick around Genoa City. He vows the change in him is sincere. He wants her to convince Noah and the Newmans (sounds like a band name). Sienna scoffs… how could she persuade them? Matt says she’s one of them now. “Can you help me out?”

Matt gets Phyllis’ text but ignores it to continue pressing Sienna to intervene on his behalf with Noah and the Newmans (definitely a band name). Sienna admits she already told her boyfriend she thought he’d changed, but he didn’t buy it. Matt wants a chance to be happy. Sienna will see what she can do but warns him about playing her. She almost killed him once and won’t fail the next time.

Matt’s still gabbering to Sienna when Noah stalks in and fumes that no one wants him around here. Whether he changes his mind about leaving town or not, he’s going. Matt suggests they leave each other alone and walks out. Noah fumes over him coming back and hopes it was to say goodbye.

A Stunning Admission

At the Athletic Club, Nikki broaches the topic of Jack Abbott to Victor, who, unsurprisingly, becomes agitated. She wants him to say he was wrong. She reminds Victor he’s the love of her life and Jack is her friend. She can’t ignore what he did to him.

Victor apologizes for pushing her away. Nikki exhales, “Thank you for that.” She’s willing to let go of what he did to Jack, if he can let go of Jack helping her get sober in the hotel room. It’s the only chance they have. Victor’s eyes well up as he grunts that his love for her is stronger than his hatred for Jack Abbott. “Let’s go home.”

Across the room, Phyllis is losing her mind over Matt not texting her back and leaves him a ranty voicemail about ghosting her over sex. She’s on the verge of telling him to go f*** himself, when he walks in and charms her: He was trying to put things into place to build a life with her.

Matt tells Phyllis that Sienna may be his salvation despite having tried to kill him in Las Vegas; she’ll be an ally. Phyllis shakes her head no… it’s a fairytale. The Newmans won’t change their mind. She advises him to trust no one.

Back at The Shadow Room, Sienna and Noah are bickering about Matt. She’s offended by his suggestion that she wouldn’t know if someone was playing her. Noah loses it. He can’t believe she’s talking about the man who tried to kill them both and got his dad addicted to fentanyl. No mention of Matt raping his mother… hmm.

The Final Scenes

Stil at the Shadow Room, Sienna and Noah go at it over Matt. Noah says she’s seeing things that aren’t there and reminds her that Matt’s a master manipulator. Sienna fumes that no one manipulates her or controls her. “Including you!”

At the Club, Nikki tells Victor how happy she is to be going home properly. “I missed you so much.” She’s grateful for the support with her blindness and Nick. Victor missed her too.

Nikki suddenly spots Phyllis and Matt Clark. Victor tells her they’ve been together for a while. Nikki urges Victor to deal with Clark now and make sure he can never hurt their family again.

Phyllis groans as Victor and Nikki approach. Victor immediately notices Matt’s ankle monitor is missing. Matt admits that they took it off. He still plans to honor their agreement. Victor intones that he made it clear what would happen if he violated the terms.

Clark informs Victor that the contract needs a little wiggle room and warns that he’s about to violate a whole bunch of other terms too. He’s moving out of the ranch and shacking up with his girl, Phyllis. Victor growls, “We’ll see about that.”
