It’s Daniel to the Rescue When Devon Upsets Abby — and Phyllis and Matt Hit the Sheets
Thursday, July 30, 2026: Today on The Young and the Restless, Noah wants Matt gone, Daniel distracts an upset Abby, and Phyllis and Matt celebrate his freedom.

At the Shadow Room, Noah wants Sienna to talk to him… she hasn’t been herself since Matt was there. She tells him the conversation with her ex shook her. Sienna’s realized there was good in him; that’s who she fell in love with. Noah protests, but Sienna believes he’s changed.
Noah’s all about dealing with Matt now rather than waiting to see what he does next. He’s a problem. “Matt wants to leave town, so I’m going to find a way to help make that happen. Whether he likes it or not.” Sienna’s afraid of backing Matt into a corner where he’ll do something he regrets. Noah scoffs at the idea he has a conscience and can’t believe she thinks he’s a changed man. Sienna admits that seeing Matt acting humble and sweet has brought back good memories. It’s confusing and unnerving.
Phyllis’ Busy Day
At the Club, Phyllis spots Daniel, who is unable to dodge his mother. She reminds him that the situation with Newman is over. “Victor forgave me. You can’t?!” Daniel learns that she saved Nick’s life and Victor was grateful. He gave her Cane’s old company too… because he respects her. Daniel says he isn’t that transactional. He exits.

Matt arrives and joins Phyllis for a drink. They toast to freedom and friendship and she asks if he’s thinking of skipping town. Matt admits she’s the only reason he’s not running away. They establish their feelings and Matt croons that the first thing they need to do is deal with the ankle monitor and find a place to live. Phyllis is full of ideas.
Up in Phyllis’ suite, she has a bag of tools from maintenance and starts working on Matt’s ankle monitor. They joke about putting it on a freight train, a drone, or a cinder block at the bottom of a lake. He decides he’ll leave it in his room at the ranch to buy time. Together, they get it off. She kisses him as he heads to the ranch.

Coitus Interruptus
At Lily’s place, she and Cane canoodle after sex. Her phone rings – it’s Devon. She answers and her brother asks to get together to talk. He needs her help and wants to come to her.

At Society, Abby spots Devon ending his call and suggests they have a date night. He wants a raincheck. He’s heading to Lily’s to talk and claims it’s about his sister’s choices lately. He knows his wife is concerned about him but he’s fine. Abby tells him she’s sad that he won’t open up to her… or doesn’t want to.
Devon wants to be able to share everything with Abby, but he needs time to get his head together. She asks if he’s unhappy with them. He says no… he loves her and this is just something he needs to deal with on his own. Tears track down her face as she complains that he can talk to Lily and not her.

Devon asks Abby to just let him handle this. Dom is picking up on his anger… something is wrong and he doesn’t know what it is. Abby hugs him. She’s there when he’s ready to talk.
Devon leaves and Daniel shows up. He’s stunned to see Abby crying and asks if she could use a friend. Abby admits that Devon’s struggling and won’t open up to her. There’s a wall up she can’t get past. Daniel urges her to trust the love. Abby just finds it hard to sit on the sidelines.

Daniel asks if Devon’s still upset with Mariah. Abby says it’s different now. He’s become remote and silent and she can’t help. Daniel coaches her to just love him and be there when he needs her. In the meantime, she needs a distraction. “Have you been to Noah’s hot new club yet?”
Back at Lily’s, she tells Cane she can’t say no to Devon, who is going through something. She hopes she can hold her temper given that he’s been so combative. They reluctantly part ways. Devon arrives, and notices Lily’s been entertaining. He snarks, “Was it Cane?” Lily admits they had dinner. Devon gripes about her letting him back in her life. She tells him to leave if he’s going to attack her. He apologizes.

Off the Hook
At the Club, Cane runs into Matt and questions him about working for Victor. Matt admits it was a big mistake to get involved with him. He confesses he’s never been to Kansas either, telling Cane, “You’re off the hook.” Cane asks what’s next for him. Matt’s not sure, but atoning for his past has gotten him nowhere. He cryptically teases that he may take his life in a whole new direction.

In her suite, Phyllis tries calling Matt and gets his voicemail. She asks, “Where are you?” and pleads with him to call her or, better yet, walk through the door.
The Final Scenes
At Society, Abby tells Daniel she’s not in the mood for a club. Daniel really isn’t either but Lucy told him he’s lame, so they have to prove her wrong. Abby grins.

At Lily’s, she tells Devon he’s been so angry she doesn’t recognize him lately. Devon admits he’s lashing out and being a jerk. She asks if there’s more than the kidnapping. Devon thinks so… he’s questioning everything about his life, including the money he’s inherited and the privilege that comes with it.

At the Shadow Room, Noah tells Sienna that Matt is still a problem, changed or not. He’s got to get him out of Genoa City.
At Phyllis’ suite, she’s relieved when Matt returns with a bag. She was worried about him. He finds this adorable. As far as Victor’s concerned, he’s tucked into bed. Phyllis wants him to take her job offer and let her take care of him. Sexy music starts up and they hit the sheets.
