EJ Finally Strikes, But Lexie May Not Be Up to the Task of Saving Kristen
Friday, July 31, 2026: Today on Days of Our Lives, EJ has Kristen grabbed, Leo rushes off to Alamainia and Lexie’s strength gives out at the worst time.

Leo’s on the phone again trying to get a flight to Alaimania. It doesn’t seem to be going well. What’s worse, Leo missed his deadline, so Chad shows up at his door to find out where he is! Leo fills him in on Dimitri kidnapping Gwen in his typical rush, so Chad does him a solid and gets him on the DiMera jet.
The Carvers’ Last Christmas
The Carvers wrap up their Christmas in July with some cookies — and Theo heading out and coming back with a surprise gift. Naturally, the necklace starts her crying again, but she has to pivot fast when her boys notice her handy dandy new geolocator bracelet. “It was a gift from Kristen,” she finally says, not technically lying!

Things get testy, though, when it comes to how she’s getting to the airport and snaps at Abe to let her go by herself. Then she starts crying again and says she’s overwhelmed again and just asks him to say their goodbyes in their home. (How is no one realizing something is going on??)
Are Gus and Javi In Trouble?
Javi and Gus hand Trey over to Paulina in the square — much to, it appears, Gus’ relief! He throws back the drinks when they get into Small Bar, happy to be baby free. Javi could see himself being a parent again, but Gus isn’t that into the idea. Kids would completely depend on who he’s with. And he may know someone who fits that bill! (Yeah… this doesn’t seem like it’s gonna work.)

They finish their drinks and find Leo in the square on his way to the airstrip and get all the details, at which point Javi protests. It’s too dangerous to go alone! Gus does a doubletake and tells Javi to let Leo do what he wants to. His ride finally arrives as Javi frets over Leo some more and Gus tells him, bluntly, that Leo is no longer his problem.
What Does Paulina Suspect?
Lexie hugs Theo fiercely and tells him her love stays with him always, but he’s gotta take a call, so she’s sobbing as Abe gets back with her bags. They share heartfelt “I love you’s” and say goodbye, only for her to break down in the hallway.

Abe and Theo head out into the square and spot Paulina with Trey, but Abe sends his son over to check on her while he hides. There’s not much he can do but head over, though, once she spots him! They trade pleasantries about how everyone’s doing, and Paulina — in the most, “Whaaaaa” Paulina way — points out how strange it is for Lexie to fly to South Africa by herself.
Kristen and EJ Say Goodbye
Kristen’s decided it’s time to catch up with EJ, so he pours her a drink to celebrate Rachel’s release from Bayview. They get right into the cat and mouse. EJ knows Kristen was planning a trip with Sydney. Hopefully, she treats EJ’s daughter better than trying to kill his son. “You don’t think you deserved that?!”

Kristen takes a breath as even EJ seems shocked, and wonders how they got to this level of hate. Father wouldn’t be proud of either one of them. For what it’s worth, Kristen says, she wishes EJ had been hers and John’s. EJ, in turn, tells Kristen that DNA or not, she’s the most DiMera of them all. And they say goodbye.
EJ takes some time to think, once she’s gone, then calls his goons to do it. Outside, Kristen’s nabbed in the park and activates her necklace. The goon drags her to the airstrip and throws her in a cargo container. Lexie manages to stumble her way to the airfield, find the cargo container and struggle with the lock. (They chat for a bit about how hard their goodbyes were the whole time. It’s… not very circumspect.)
In the Show’s Final Moments
Rita pops out of the tunnels to tell her boss that Part I went well. But something’s off. EJ feels surprisingly… sad. As Rita points out, Kristen is his sister. But in the end, their father never looked back once he made a decision. Paulina doesn’t let Abe and Theo go as she peppers them with questions they should’ve asked, but just stops with an “Mmmmm,” and takes Trey to her room. “I hope Lexie has a good trip…”
Chad finds Rafe in the Pub and tells him what happened with Leo. Rafe’s disappointed EJ didn’t kidnap Gwen, but que sera sera.
Kristen has the consideration to check on how Lexie’s feeling about this all, but she just wants to spare Theo and Abe watching her die. She died 15 years ago. This was just a bonus. She goes to look for a crowbar and collapses.
