Xander’s Pill Revelation Pushes a New Trio to Plot EJ’s Downfall, and Marlena Tries Doing Damage Control

Brady runs into Marlena in the square on his way to train with Tate and tells her that Amira is leaving Basic Black. But he’s got to run, bye!

Can Roman Forgive Kate?

Marlena makes a beeline over to Kate to offer an olive branch and see if she’d still be willing to work together for the company. Kate, er, would not be willing. But it’s because Titan’s about to go under thanks to EJ, and it’s all her fault! Marlena does her forgiveness thing, but as Kate points out, that may not be enough for her and Roman. Then it’s pep talk time. Kate gets knocked down, but she gets up again. Never gonna keep her down!

That sends Kate rushing to the Pub, to try talking to Roman again. But he’s not interested. She tries taking a walk down Memory Lane, but that doesn’t work, so instead she tells him that she’s his wife, fate brought them together and apologizes some more! She’d give everything up for him.

Sarah Realizes She Was Very, Very Wrong

Xander rushes over to Sarah to tell her his theory about the bag pills. Holly’s innocent! EJ is not. Sarah doubts even EJ is that cruel, but Xander points out how much trouble he and DiiMera would be in if the arsenic truth came out. Xander’s worked the whole thing out. (To paraphrase EJ, Xander’s definitely not the dumb one!)

 Sarah tells Xander what Steve found about the Coriseal supply two years ago and all the pieces fall into place. Sarah’s so angry with herself for refusing to believe Holly. (Same.) For now, though, they need proof before they tip their hand to EJ. And Sarah has some apologizing to do.

Will Holly Forgive Sarah?

EJ pays Holly a visit in the hospital, bearing good news. But don’t worry, it’s not admitting that he framed her. Instead, it’s that he’s pretty sure Amy will be dropping the lawsuit. (Wait, are we jumping the gun here or is it really done?) EJ’s all tender, promising he’ll always be there for Holly. (With some pills in hand, right, EJ?)

Sarah finds EJ in Holly’s room and promptly throws him out, earning Holly’s wrath. To her credit, Sarah takes it, and apologizes. “I’ve come to realize the pills could have been planted in your bag.” She won’t say who planted the pills, but Holly’s just relieved and forgives her aunt in the blink of an eye. (That was way too easy.)

Xander Spreads the News

Gwen’s missed almost her entire session and Tate still can’t get hold of her. Brady shows up and gets to work (Tate seems to be doing nothing but watching, so hopefully his dad got a huge discount) and it doesn’t take long for them to get to Gwen’s weird disappearance.

 The two wrap and head to the hospital, where Xander overhears them talking about Gwen. Once Tate hurries off to find a peace offering gift for Holly, Brady fills Xander in about the EJ kidnapping theory. And Xander fills Brady in about the EJ pill planting theory — which they then promptly tell Tate when he comes back. (Though, again, they leave EJ’s name out of it.)

Can Marlena Get Through to EJ?

Marlena pays EJ a visit at the mansion with a warning. She’s talked to more than a few people lately who seem to be afraid of him: Gwen, Lexie, Kristen, everyone at Titan… When does it end? He’s hurting his family. Marlena tells him she knows about Lexie, so please leave Titan alone and stop using Johnny to do his dirty work. (Which she didn’t know for sure until she saw EJ’s reaction.)

Marlena asks EJ not to drag Johnny into this — neither of them want to follow in Stefano’s footsteps. She’s seen the good part of EJ, along with the dark. Be Good EJ.

In the Show’s Final Moments

Tate drops into Holly’s room next with his own apology, which she happily accepts, and tells him the good news about EJ getting Amy off her back. Roman assures Kate that he doesn’t want Titan to fail, and he still loves her. But he’s struggling to like her right now. And hey, that’s good enough for the moment!

Sarah tells Brady and Xander about finding EJ in Holly’s room. All three agree to keep digging until they find the proof they need to take EJ down, and Sarah’s actually self-aware enough to realize how weird Xander, Brady and her teaming up are. Weird enough to actually take EJ down?
