Susan Returns to Town to Save EJ’s Soul and Cleanse His Ring, Plus Leo Finds Out Who Took Gwen
Tuesday, July 28, 2026: Today on Days of Our Lives, Susan warns EJ to change his wicked ways, Rafe gives Leo what he needs to track down Gwen and Lexie has a special surprise for her boys.

Leo’s packed and ready to fly! To where, he doesn’t know. But he calls to book a flight anyway, blaming his confusion on his concussion. From over a month ago. He gets, of course, nowhere.
Is Johnny Overreacting?
Worried that Trey’s got a cold, Johnny snatches him out of Chanel’s arms since her immune system’s compromised from the chemo. That doesn’t sit well with her. But Johnny pushes on, calling Leo first (he’s gotta fly… somewhere), then running through everyone else before giving up finding a babysitter. Luckily, Javi shows up at the door to the rescue!

Once they’re alone, Johnny wipes down the whole apartment, then points out that they’re home alone… Chanel, unfortunately, though, is not feeling it. She feels awful and she misses Trey. Johnny offers to take the rest of the day off work and take care of her, but Chanel won’t hear of it.
What’s Lexie Up To?
Lexie’s talking all mysteriously to Kristen on the phone when Theo walks into the room and has some questions. She lies her face off, only to be saved by Abe coming home. Except, Abe called Celeste who had no clue her daughter was coming to visit. Busted!

“Abe! I wanted to surprise her!” Or not. Of course, poor Abe feels horrible for ruining the non-existent surprise. Lexie gets all suspiciously emotional again and is crying by the time she says she’ll miss Abe. She then sends the fellas out to pick up some takeout she ordered and calls someone: “The coast is clear.”
Are Gus and Javi In Trouble?
Leo’s next stop is Rafe’s to ask for his help with Gwen, but the FBI agent is already on it. “A case… has been opened.” Leo fills Rafe in on everything he knows and Rafe, in turn, tells Leo that Gwen’s phone was found smashed at the airstrip. And only cargo planes have been in and out of the airstrip.

That’s about when Javi gets home with Trey and Rafe runs off, fast, followed shortly by Leo who wants to prove he wasn’t there looking for Javi. But he doesn’t make it out before Gus walks into the kitchen. (Was he home the whole time?) Once it’s just two men and a baby, Gus tries his hardest with Trey, who just bursts into tears. So Gus admits babies aren’t really his thing. (And that’s the end of Gus and Javi, folks.)
Can Susan Save EJ’s Soul?
Susan is finally back! She hurries into the mansion to take EJ to task. She warned him not to go down his father’s cruel path, and that’s just what he did! So Susan “taps” into his hand’s energy and decides the Phoenix ring is the cause of the problem. She yanks it off and tells her son in no uncertain terms that he is not Stefano, and she will not let him be that monster! (Yeah, about that, Susan…)

EJ’s all contrite as Susan waltzes out with the ring, but that’s gone the second Rafe shows up at the door lobbing accusations about Gwen’s disappearance. Just as things start getting testy, Susan pops up again and gives EJ’s ring back now that she’s performed a cleansing ritual. She then explains how to re-up the cleansing to the baffled guys. (Salt water baths are so versatile.)
Rafe explains that EJ’s been up to some shady stuff, and she confirms that her son has, indeed, been up to that! But he didn’t kidnap Gwen. Susan insists she’d know it if he did!
Is This Lexie’s Farewell?
Abe and Theo pick up a ton of food and head back home to find the place decked out in Christmas decor. Lexie called in the mansion staff to get it all done, so it’s time for some Christmas in July!

Lexie wants to take turns saying what they’re thankful for. (Abe points out it’s the wrong holiday, but whatever floats your boat, Lexie.) Lexie gives a heartfelt, impassioned speech about how blessed she is to have had so much time with her boys, who she’s so proud of. Tears are streaming down her face as she finishes.
In the Show’s Final Moments
Gus tells Javi that Leo was supposed to be gone, looking for Gwen. Javi had no clue she was missing, but wonders why Leo didn’t tell him. A very jealous Gus’ response is just: “Did you want him to write you a love letter or something?”
Leo calls the airstrip from his room, and plays the reporter card to get the flight logs. They send it, apparently, instantaneously to his computer. (Did he give them his email address?) One log instantly stands out: A flight to Alamainia. Leo texts Dimitri asking if he knows anything and… “Turnabout is fair play.” Dimitri’s got her!
